same price?
Think the price is the same, thats not my area.
It looks like the Lumix 8mm is a little wider and more distorted than the 60d or t3i with the manybrand?
What is "manybrand"?
Thanks again
Jason H
Jason
Thanks if you can answer me.
However the nike SB chronicle was insane!! Thanks for pushing the skateboard video out of the VX1000 style!!!
This is what I think. THERE IS NO WRONG OR RIGHT, THERE IS ONLY HOW GOOD YOU ARE WITH THAT TOOL... Personally I was tired of seeing the rolling shutter, Moire, and artifacts from most canon camera's. So I thought I'd give the GH2 a whirl, this video and footage is me learning to use the GH2. From what I can see in camera, and editing I think it kills every canon i've used video wise... As far as your question about sensor size etc... What your saying is correct to a point. Except that the 8mm Lumix is specifically made for MFT sensor cameras and would look a lot different on APS-C sensor cameras. Just because the number is the same dosen't mean one gives you a larger image. Each fisheye is supposed to be used on a specific sensor to achieve it's full image. I used my Sigma 8mm on the GH2 for some of the Handle product shots it has the "number/8mm" on it and it's a fish eye, but the distortion of course isn't the same as the Lumix 8mm. (because it's a fisheye for APS-C sensor camera's)
I've noticed my canon 60d with a Sigma 8mm
(although is has a lot of vignetting) is nearly as wide as the X-treme fisheye on a HPX/HVX. These two to me are the wides't/best image optically.
However the 8mm Lumix on a GH2/AF101 is smaller then the above.
But GOD DAMN! the image I feel is better then most of the Canon's I owned 7d, 60d, T3i, and a HPX/HVX.
My favorite DSLR camera/fisheye combo was the 5d and a 15mm so I can't wait to see what the C300 with that looks like.
All this is JUST MY OPINION!
Jason H
The C300 has the same crop factor of 1,6 like APS-C so with EF lense it will be the same.
Maybe with a PL mont fisheye like a PELENG 3.5/8PL... However working with cine lense is awsome. I work sometime with a FS100 with some Zeiss CP2 and the image is god dam sharp!
In france the skate industry has a very low budget so I know that I will not pay a Xtreme century fisheye to film skate, and I don't want to buy a small sensor camera(productions already own theses for news work).
I think I will maybe wait the 5DmkIII or 5DX and buy the canon 15mm... Or wait the new nikon's DSLR that seems to have f****ing great new video mode.
During this time I will continue to use my XHA1s(even if now I hate HDV!) and T1i with Magic lantern.
Anyway as soon as I buy a new DSLR I buy your handle because I'm sure that it's the best one out there.
Thank you.

I know what you mean it's alway's nice to play with things first before you buy them, I've played with a few rigs and a lot of them just feel cheap, and horribly thought out. Most of them think all you need is a handle, but didn't think about how easy it is, to shake the handle as well as the camera. Of course I don't want my footage to look shaky so that's why our rig has the different weights in the back to counter balance your camera, etc...
if its a time lapse with a 5d shoot with a low shutter?
i love the effect you get.
Sorry for the delay.
