2011 saw a lot of turmoil, both in America and internationally. Political, financial, and moral crisis escalating with every new corner we turned. America is in the straits of judgement, and our leaders, both church and state, have been navigating recklessly. But 2012 can be different from 2011. We can all be learning how to build or rebuild a God-fearing nation. Psalm 91 promises that to those who are in the 'secret place of the the Most High', the Lord's angels will carry us up, so we won't even strike our toes on a stone. If we as a people will truly hunger and thirst for righteousness, if we will diligently seek that 'secret place' where the Lord dwells, 2012 can be different. The Lord can heal our land.
It's time to be strong, to be courageous, and to meditate on the truth of scripture. Not just what it says, but how we can teach it, implement it, and above all, stand as guardians and defenders of it. 2012 should be a year of victory, not a year of a defeated, impotent, and ignorant church. 2012 should be a year of strength and wisdom, not fear, compromise, or pride from our state leaders. We, as Christians, are the rudder that turns the moral ship that is America. Don't let 2012 be a year to say we care about the leaders of America, when we ourselves are not leading the change. Don't let 2012 be a year where we wish for Godly leaders in office, but don't strive to be Godly saints in our own churches.
"And this is the great conclusion; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil." - Ecclesiastes 12:13,14
God bless each and every one of you with wisdom and honor. Let's storm the beaches of 2012, and lead the charge of reformation. We face certain victory if we obey, and certain defeat if we do not.
~ In Christ, John.
