A few weeks ago a group of friends and I got together at Fort Tryon park in NYC to test out a GoPro array we'd put together. After seeing Rip Curl's amazing footage with an array of 30 GoPros, we wanted to see what we could do with only 11 and some post processing.
I was lucky enough to be working with Mike "MikeFresh" Marrera of the Supreme Beings Crew who I met through Jeremy Schweitzer.
Thanks to GoPro, the camera crew, Mike & Jeremy, and Mike Thomas for letting me borrow some of the cameras and for helping to inspire the idea.
11 cameras were arranged along a 6 foot Aluminum track in various configurations. The brackets used on the track let us easily switch the orientation of the rig from horizontal to vertical. We shot the intro with a Canon 7D.
