Shang Wenjie or Laure Shang, a famous youth singer in China, launched her new song called ‘Icon’ to celebrate IYV+10 at the 30 years anniversary of UN Volunteers in China on 1, December 2011.

The song promotes volunteerism and aims to 'inspire the volunteer in you'. Her live performance aroused huge media attention, including the largest national media, resulting on some 30 news articles.

Shang integrated her own volunteer experience into the song and encouraged people to join volunteer action. She graduated from Fudan University with a French Major, speaks fluent English, French and Spanish and used to be among the top five French simultaneous interpreters in Shanghai.

In 2006, Ms Shang was the ‘Super Voice Girl Champion’ with 5,196,975 votes in the national finals. Today, composer, song producer, charity spokesman and Chinese fashion icon, Laure’ s fans contribute to a study found called ‘Shang Aiming High Project’ to help dropout students.
