Love how you use the light.
Specially the yellow color. She looks in the shop window, she wants to go, and all her house is penetraded with yellow light. I love these cinematographic connections... Where can I see the whole work?

Stephen, I love anamorphic lenses. Do you find it difficult to use with 35mm (even with a pro ana lens)? I am using a MKII with an isco lens and you have to be careful and plan things out.

Hi Tracey - i love using anamorphic lenses - its my fav. format and ive worked with it quite a bit over the years so i dont find it difficult. love all the qualities the lenses bring to an image.

i dont know anything about film stock, but to get that greenish color in the supermarket she was shopping did you have a special film stock, did you color correct it, or was it the lighting. I'm curious how you achieved that color. Oh btw did you scan the prints and edit in a non linear editor or do it linear.

The whole project was shot on Kodak 5279 which has more contrast and saturation then most modern stocks. For that scene we shot under green spiked tubes and i used a Jade filter on the lens. The NEGATIVE was scanned at 2K and edited on a non linear system. The PRINT was created after all the post work was completed.

Your footage is awesome! I love the yellow at 00:58 and the fantastic atmosphere that gives me the blue green intro with the color dots of the lights. I want to see the rest please

Beautiful shots Stephan. Just wanting some advice as I am shooting a short s16mm film in march and have a lot of dusk scenes. I wondered if you reccomend using a tungsten stock rather than daylight to bring out the blues?
  • Jamie Muir 1 year ago
All shots are exterior i forgot to add.
  • Stephen Murphy 1 year ago
    Hi Jamie,
If you want a colder/blue cast to your footage then shooting uncorrected tungsten would be better then daylight stock.
