161. Bob The Aviator - a Canon C300 short

Bob Pluck is a retiree with a mission - to fly. He follows his dream at the Damyns Hall airfield near London.

Shot entirely on a pre-production Canon C300 by a team of shooters. They are DOP Andy Jackson, dslrnewsshooter's Dan Chung, Owner of Cherryduck productions James Velacott and freelance shooter Felix Clay. The whole short was shot in one short winter's day and edited by Cherryduck's in house team.

Many thanks to Nick Millen of Canon UK for the loan of the camera.

would it be possible to post some screens? I would really like to see Bob's face without that little bit of web compression...

Very nice. Nice story. Love the detail in the shots, the composition. The grade looked a wee bit purple and dark to me, I wonder if it's just my screen or not.... probably is.

Nice job! I thought the same, some of the flesh tones looked too purple for my preference so it wasn't just your screen. Really liked the little story, though!

Thank you Dan. Is there any reason for not seeing it at 1080? Was it shot at 720?
At about 00:59 I notice some aliasing (or stairstepping, don't know how to call it) on the red and black paint of the letters "WZ", is it the same in your footage or is it just a Vimeo thing?
    Thanks again!

Beautiful and heartfelt piece, Dan. Well done on all fronts, and nice to see the 300 at work. I kept thinking you could have pulled off 95% of the shots with your 5d, but that's only because you've mede the 5d look so very good over the years. I'm sure the 300 is easier in many ways.

Am I missing something Dan? Oh yeah what lenses fot the shoot? and yes agree with most this looks amazing, but I'm curious why it looks a bit dark to me? any lighting or all natural?

    Thanks Dan

Nicely done Dan! dig the grade! wonder if there are any c300 mounts out that would let you strap it on a plane ?
