Please watch in fullscreen HD.
Timelapse sequences of the nightsky in Meribel, France, during the week of January 2nd 2012.
No idea how those flickrs at every transition got there, they looked fine at the export. Will have to reupload.
Shot using the canon 600D with MagicLantern firmware with the Tokina 116 lens and canon 50mm f1,8.
Music is 'I drive - Cliff Martinez' Check out his work, it's amazing!
A big thanks goes out to WeZooz.be, please go and take a look there or on their facebookpage: facebook.com/WeZooz.be

I want to do this something like that really bad, just drive out somewhere special and spend a whole week shooting :-)
Now it's just random places and whenever I can find some time to do it, usually I'll have to get very lucky with light and weather, not so ideal... :)
I read you found a good spot somewhere in the hoge venen? Care to share where exactly? I yet have to discover these places in belgium!
Lac de la gileppe is a little bit further than Liège, there's still light pollution but the lake there is very beautiful. You can also go to Signal De Botrange, which is the highest point, there's almost no light pollution there. A little bit further down south is Sourbrodt, on the edge of the Hoge Venen. There's a big field that a lot of Astro guys use, you can see the Milky way with the naked eye there.
The darkest place I've been is Weppeler Berg, it's TOTALLY east in Belgium, about 20km from Sourbrodt, just alongside the German border. You literally can't see anything there, it's perfect for starlapses. Lots of beautufil trees, little creeks and hills :)
There's a very good Light pollution map of the whole world online -> blue-marble.de/nightlights/2010
I usually look for dark places, then explore it a little bit on Google Maps/Streetview/Panoramio. You get a pretty good idea of how the region looks and if you can get there easily or not.
