Conceived by New Orleans natives Harry Connick, Jr and Branford Marsalis, Musician's Village provides a new home for the musicians that have defined the New Orleans culture and sound.
I produced this video in 2008 for a North Shore YMCA initiative to support Habitat for Humanity in the rebuilding of New Orleans after Katrina. The purpose of producing this video was to take photographic images supplied to the North Shore YMCA by Musician's Village, and a great performance by Harry Connick, Jr. of "Do You KNow What It Means To Miss New Orleans," and create a "roll-in" video for a live YMCA fund-raising event that stressed that Katrina's devastation had not yet been addressed.
The song was written by Eddie DeLange and Louis After. This performance was used with permission granted to The North Shore YMCA by Harry Connick, Jr. for this fundraiser. More on The Musician's Village can be found at: nolamusiciansvillage.com .
