This clip from the historical musical "Lincoln & Booth" is one of the few extant renditions of "Honor to Our Soldiers," a piece written by William Withers, the music director of Ford's Theatre at the time, that was scheduled to be performed that very evening between acts of "Our American Cousin." The setting is a rehearsal taking place in the theatre on Good Friday during the day. The featured soloist is actress Laura Keene who is celebrating her 1,000th performance. Composer Withers is in the pit conducting as the famous actor John Wilkes Booth enters the rehearsal. Booth is played by Frank Sweeney, Withers by Christopher Weed, and Laura Keene by Laura Diekmann. The film was done by Harder & Company based in New Haven, CT.
