A short documentary that explores the issues of food security and agro-pastoral production in Mauritania. Mauritanian society, like many others across the Sahel region of Africa, has gone through rapid change in the past few decades; a transformation from a largely nomadic culture to a sedentary one that practices agriculture. This rapid transformation in conjuncture with drought, floods and erratic weather conditions linked to climate change have had severe consequences on food security and on the population in the region. This film looks at the current situation in Mauritania and some the solutions that are being pursued by the government and development organizations.
