Well here's a preview clip of the butterfly with streams of colour trailing from her wings. This is one of a few different avenues I'm exploring for the style of the butterfly. I've been playing with simulated hair attached to the wings, reactor cloth, lofted splines and particles... Sound like a sandbox full of fun.
