Transferred from analog video tape. Scenes of New Mexico's landscape as seen from AMTRAK #4 Starting with a cruise through the town of Gallup (get your kicks on Route 66) near noontime then through the desert and high country where the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe RR's semaphore blades were still protecting block segments in Spring of 1999. The hue of late afternoon desert colors is wonderful. About 6:00pm trains #3 and #4 met north of Wagon Mound, NM at Levy Siding (signal 719.1). The opposing train had an EMD freight engine in the lead position.
