8-House is located in Ørestad on the edge of Copenhagen. 8-House offers homes for people in all of life’s stages: the young and the old, singles, families that grow and families that become smaller. Instead of dividing the different functions of the building - for both habitation and retail - into separate blocks, the various functions have been spread out horizontally. The apartments are placed at the top while the commercial program unfolds at the base of the building. As a result, the different horizontal layers have achieved a quality of their own: the apartments benefit from the view, sunlight and fresh air, while the commercial merges with life on the street.

We love that all types of architectural representation are being used here. Clever way to explain the design process through a very interactive film.

Awesome presentation, but the music at the end is a little weird to me.

I have been studying your architecture, and got to the conclusion that what you do it's modern functional architecture in a more complex level acoording to nowadays.

BIG> As usual, you guys are/were ahead of the curve when it comes to architectural representation. Excellent presentation. The only thing that would make it cooler (as if BIG isn't cool enough) would be if your running man was doing parkour.

Josh> I would be willing to bet that this was done with old-fashioned choreography, 3d motion tracking software (like Matchmover or Boujou), and compositing in post-production (After Effects, etc). That's how I plan to do it, anyway. :)

I agree, augmented reality tends to shake and glitch because it as attempting to animate in real time. This seems to be done with alot of good planning and post processing as marc suggested.

    Update...

After seeing this video I decided to give this style of presentation a go myself. I used good old-fashioned choreography and acting, 3d motion tracking with Matchmover, and compositing with After Effects. A special effects company in LA did the rotoscoping for me, I didn't have time to do it myself (in Mocha). You can see it here:
