First weekend away in the Caravan - the whole summer 08 ahead of us, hence the music track seemed to fit my mood nicely.
Flying a Breta Furio off a hand throw across a slopeing field. With the wind slightly crossed from ideal, it was hard to get the initial height, and the model struggles in the first few scenes, as I pull too hard on the elevator.
But once away the momentum can be held onto and the field searched for patches of extra thermal lift.
Flying becomes easier as the video progresses, and the lift patterns become more understood.
A great day that I remember with a lot of pleasure - it's always good to fight the odds and win.
Ps. The field works because of the tree line behind where I'm standing. The slope is minimal. It gives a good example of just how you could have a good day on a beach in front of a cliff line. A small catapult would make life a lot easier - but less of a challenge.
