“EDUARDO PAOLOZZI” (29’)
BBC Scotland Ex-S.
As the Dean Gallery in Edinburgh opens a
permanent ‘Paolozzi room’ Ex-S looks back
at his life and work.
Dir. Louise Wardle
Ex-S was a long-running Arts documentary strand looking and different aspects of Scottish culture. It covered a huge range of subjects and gave opportunities to both new and experienced directors so you never knew exactly what kind of film you would be making.
Eduardo Paolozzi was one of the founders of the 'Pop Art' movement, creating radical collages that juxtaposed the artefacts and imagery of an increasingly manufactured, post-war world. His later cubist sculptures often deconstruct the human form and are well known, large scale public art commissions.
