John Prine's ode to the devastation of strip mining and health-related dangers of coal-fired power plants is a battle cry for opponents of mountain top removal mining practices. The tribute to Prine's classic song is performed by musicians Mike Mitchell, Bernie Coveney, Abe Goorskey and Chris Luster at Oak Grove Pavilion in Floyd, Virginia. Filmed with a Sony Z1U in 2007 and re-edited recently on Final Cut X. Photos from my personal collection, Bettman Archives and Wikipedia. My thanks to John Prine for permission to use his song.
