VTE - A Collaborative Media Project
VTE was a collaborative media project from the multichannel audiovisual production workshop using Max/MSP Jitter on display at Eyebeam on December 13th.
This piece is the outcome of research and experimentation conducted by students of the 'Collaborative Media Workshop.' This workshop, led by Andrew Demirjian at Eyebeam, introduced students to technical methods and aesthetic strategies for producing audiovisuals in spatialized art installations.
The students' final project, entitled VTE, is an algorithmically edited work composed of sound and video captured from various New York City elevators. Eight channels of rhythmic audio play while four projectors cast synced video onto a 10 ft. high cube. This cube uses the same structural skeleton as an ambisonic sound cube developed in August/September 2011 by Eyebeam Technical Staff Jackson Moore. The work is an algorithmically edited piece composed of sound and video captured from various New York City elevators. Eight channels of rhythmic audio play while four projectors cast synced video onto a 10 ft. high cube.
The installation is by Crystal Butler, Todd Bryant, Kathleen Judge, Quin Kennedy, Sofia van Leeuwen, James Proctor, Yo Park, Matth Torti and Daniel Wilson.
Special thanks to Andrew Demirjian and Eyebeam.
