SHASTA LAKE - The City Council on Jan. 17, 2012, approved on a 4-1 vote a supplemental appropriation of $40,000 from the general fund for the April 10, 2012, special recall election of Councilwoman Dolores Lucero. The councilwoman said she'll fight the recall, going so far as to say she'll file suit to try and prevent the special election from taking place. Also during the meeting, Kay Kobe, the treasurer of the committee to recall Lucero, accused the councilwoman of coming to her office on Jan. 5 and demanding documents that are not required to be submitted until Jan. 31.
