wow wicked man, Im experimenting with something similar thats using camera input and the cv.jit objects, not quite as nice as yours is yet though, I take it this is all slabs over some geometry feeding back the texture onto itself or a repos type distortion?
wheres the audio? it says in the flowchart this is created by audio, but I didnt' hear any on any of these?
Nice algorythm man! Did you program the shaders or is the optical flow done with the cv? I figure a shader doing this would be much more efficient, and I assume you are getting great frame rates fullscreen? Good work! Ill show you my tests shortly, I just recorded a bunch!
@Axiom Crux, please take a minute to read the comments on my other videos. Hopefully that will answer most of your questions. The audio used to generate these video tests is pretty inconsequential, as these are just test clips and if they do end up in a finished video, I'd probably redo all the audio anyways. The original purpose of these is as test clips for a live collaboration, where I'll be working with a musician. I haven't really been too focussed on making appropriate audio.
I read through all the other videos, I gathered that yes you did the shaders, and the audio makes the visual, Im just curious does ths audio make the visual in a way that is very noticable? At any rate, heres my test that I had done a week ago or so using the cv.. it was really crazy to stumble on your videos right after and see what a more advanced version can do. vimeo.com/3785971
Ill post a couple more, theres some really great painterly things it does sometimes, not as swirly as yours, since jit.repos seems to do everything very linear, but still really fun. I wish I knew enough about shaders to make this, I have been looking for something to make realtime fluid dynamc type shapes for a long time now. If you ever decide to give it out ill be very excited :)
Well, essentially every video processing idea I have ends up in the Jitter Recipes eventually. So, if you're patient, you'll probably see something about this stuff sooner or later. Right now it's all pretty rough and messy though, and it'll probably be at least May or June before I feel motivated to make the processes more public.
