At a recent event dedicated to Obey, David Gallardo was able to catch up with the world famous man behind the brand Shepard Fairey. While clothing is a rapidly expanding and still relatively new venture for Fairey, it seems he has a solid grasp creatively of where he thinks Obey is and where it ought to be. During the interview he offers up words of wisdom in that while all fashion designers look to one another for trends, at the end of the day collections are and should be filtered through ones own sensibilities. On a less philosophical note he discusses things like his love for food trucks and his perennial musical interest in the first Clash album, all of which contribute to a light-hearted yet insightful discussion.
