No other film director inspired me more than Bernardo Bertolucci. Bertolucci's movies, such as "The Conformist" and "Last Tango in Paris", basically declare "To heck with the rules". Bertolucci pushed the artistic envelope every chance he got, which annoyed a lot of people, but many of us applauded his chutzpah, so to speak. "1900" (aka "Novecento") is a 4-hour epic, has an all-star cast (including Robert de Niro, Gérard Depardieu, Dominique Sanda), sumptuous cinematography by Vittorio Storaro, and mesmerizing original score by Ennio Morricone, a portion of which is used in this video.
