1. Segment from THE MAN THAT GOT AWAY
Clip from my undergraduate thesis film, THE MAN THAT GOT AWAY. Written/edited/narrated by Karina Longworth.
Based on a brief anecdote in a Sinatra biography, which claimed that Judy Garland once, whilst drunk, begged Frank to marry her. Every Garland biography I've read denies this ever happened, and most deny that she and Frank had an ongoing sexual relationship. This film imagines what might have happened if Judy did go to Frank's house one night, and if he did reject her, and if she never really recovered. Should be considered a work of revisionist historical criticism, and not 100% accurate film history.

Hmmm....first in a trilogy? Jean Seberg and Marilyn Monroe would make worthy sequels. :)

My old mentor forwarded this video to me with a note admiring, "it's a work of art that uses what we know and can never know about these icons in a mash-up of found footage and Karina's characteristically deft writing."

    Wonderful work.
