In the New Year the Hansard Society is delighted to be announcing the arrival of two new editors for our quarterly Parliamentary Affairs journal. To mark this occasion we will be hosting a high profile event in Portcullis House as part of our Annual Parliamentary Affairs Lecture.
With the ongoing debate over media ethics and practice, the fascinating revelations uncovered throughout the Leveson Inquiry and the public's fierce reaction to them, the theme of 2012's annual lecture will aptly focus on Parliament and the media. The event will commence with a keynote speech by Tom Watson MP, who enthralled viewers over the summer with his persistence and piercing questions during the culture, media and sport committee's inquiry into the phone hacking scandal. Our two new editors, Professor Philip Cowley and Professor Jonathan Tonge, will invite the audience put their questions to Tom.
