Remarkably, after drinking 2 liters of coke during the day I had difficulty sleeping so I recorded an instrumental based on some riffs I've been toying with. I prefer songs with vocals, but when I started writing lyrics based around a talking tree who had a perspective humans only wish they had, I knew I didn't have any good ideas.

The solo is embarrassingly sloppy, I did five takes and they were all riddled with suck. I wanted to do some cool tricks since I was videoing it, and I'm capable of being a good clean shredder, but I haven't been working on the fast stuff recently and it takes me a few weeks of woodshedding to get it back.

This is my typical style. Combining acoustic, ambient and prog elements. Normally I like to stack thick harmonized vocals on top, but not this time.
