How could one use technology to bring grafitti into the current age? With Time Writer I used software that was able to output vectors. These vectors could form words. A person would then just have to type their message. Then an array of spray nozzles supported by electronics and pumps would spray out the text while the painter walked by his canvas. Digital grafitti.

Digital input becomes analog through software and machinery. In a sense Time Writer democratizes graffitti by letting anyone apply their message quickly and efficiently to a surface without the need of prior training.
