Seed is a beautifully crafted and visually stunning site-specific screen-dance film based on events from the history of Lowther Castle in Cumbria, and in particular, secret wartime research that was conducted into the use of light as a weapon
Seed makes use of the site of Lowther Castle and various locations around the Lake District to strike a contrast between the characters and the environment in creating a narrative of displacement. The experience of the central character is posed as a web of moments and locations. This web of landscape and experience captured as a sequence of filmic moments tells the story of a soldier based at Lowther castle during World War two.
