This is a talk I gave to Demos Helsinki in Feb 2009.
The project is a mirco blogging platform organised around places in the same way that facebook is organised around people.
The website is initial focused around Copenhagen, my home for the last 2 years. I've been very impressed with the natural socialist nature of the city but also amazed at how people generally keep to their own groups. The thing I find so striking about the city coming from London is how there is very little poverty and how this actually effects everyone's life for the better.
We are all in this world together. Everyone is important for our collective well being.
The site is a collection of open micro blogs each one a user defined geographical space.
A shop is a place, and a street is a place containing many other places and so on. Each level of place is its own blog.
A post made to a shop's blog will also be made to the street the shop is on and to the area's blog and so on.
The open nature of the term open-blogging-platform means that anyone can post to any level.
The site will be launching March 2009, and if you live or work in Copenhagen we look forward to what you have to say about the city you live.
