A short flight at Cowdown Hill, Dorset. Overall the flight lasted about half an hour with height gains of no more than 70' ATO but the flight was mainly so that I could test my flight deck mount and my Xacti HD700 camcorder.

Neil McCain 2 years agoWow, that's pretty good definition, Shamus. Very clear. The near landscape looks a bit pink - was the hillside covered in clover or can you adjust the colour settings on the camera? Also, how have you mounted the camera onto your flight deck? Any chance of losing it in a steep turn, dislodging it as you check your map, or is the camera hedgehog-like in its velcro-ness?

Shamus Pitts 2 years agoHi Neil - the white balance can be adjusted on the camera but I've only had it a week so haven't played around with it yet! The flight deck mount is a bit of a bodge! I've used one of these clips maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=45385 from maplin, which is big enough to clip on to the front of the flight deck. The weight of it causes the flight deck to tilt forwards and the clip gets in the way abit when weight shifting, but it's easy to attach and pretty secure. I might see if I can clip it to my chest strap next time.
