"Marin Blue" is a feature length film directed by Matthew Hysell and produced by Erin O'Hara. It premiered at the 59th Berlinale, Forum. The film began as Matthew's thesis project at CalArts and was completed in 2008.

The story follows a "vaguely psychotic couple" as they wander through an empty Los Angeles landscape. Without a past or a future, Marin (Najarra Townsend) and Jim (Cory Knauf) first meet at Havenshurst, a youth mental facility. As they travel through the empty city, they form a bond and discover a shared history unknown even to them.

"Marin Blue" also screened at the Levante International Film Festival in Italy and in several theaters in Germany including Leipzig, Nürnberg, and Frieburg. It is distributed by the Arsenal Institute for Film and Video Art.
