Around 800 people attended the event that featured traditional Chinese food and was followed by dance, Kung Fu, and musical performances. The first day of the Chinese New Year begins at midnight on Jan. 23, 2012, and lasts for 15 days. The Chinese New Year 2012 rings in the Year of the Dragon, which only comes around every twelve years.
