Laid to Rest - The Brick Keepers Dance, The film follows four of The Brick Keepers, a mythical marching band in their days work of looking after and guarding the invented folk object at the centre of Laid to Rest. The film follows these cleaning majorette’s as they reanimate Crossness Pumping Station, this once glorious building nick named the “Cathedral to Waste”. A monument to Victorian pomp and splendor, highlighting the alchemy of transforming waste into gold, an essential part of the capitalist system.
Laid to Rest is a project by Serena Korda, with original score by Daniel O'Sullivan and was commissioned by the Wellcome Trust as part of their "Dirt" season in association with UP Projects.
