The idea was "A new age 16mm social studies film likely too heady for junior high school kids in the 60's / 70's..."
I happened upon the narration somewhere on the internet, written in the 1950's and very heady, with only "Wu Wei" as the title, with no author accredited, just "Wu Wei" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wu_wei
Anyway, I liked the surreal, sort of transcendent trippy new age quality of the writing, so Chris narrated it, we put effects on his voice to make it sound more dated & authentic, then ran the video through some effects in Final Cut.
Keep in mind, there is no "16mm Film" effect in final cut... There is "bad film" but you really gotta be delicate with it.
Like the video and add a comment, I'll gladly tell anyone my exact combination of settings in Final Cut if you want to know.. Also probably easily done in Premiere & After Effects, I'm sure, but I still rely on the settings I tweaked so carefully on my slow little laptop...
