Description:
Perceived and real barriers have historically impeded communication between law enforcement and child welfare, despite the fact that they see the same children and families. This webinar will describe the efforts in Connecticut to remove barriers and work collaboratively to create systemic changes in policy and practice to improve safety and permanency outcomes for children. Members of the Connecticut Alliance for DEC from law enforcement and child welfare will talk about how their community historically responded to drug endangered children, what precipitated the change in the response, the steps it took to implement their DEC program, and how things work now.
