ConKerr Cancer started when Cindy Kerr's son was diagnosed with cancer in 2002 and she began making pillowcases to brighten up his hospital room and to put a smile on his face.
Since its inception, ConKerr Cancer has delivered over 430,000 cheerful pillowcases to sick children in hospitals across the country and established 125 chapters They serve children in 225 hospitals and pediatric hospices across the United States, Canada, South Africa, and Isreal.
On December 9, 2011, Maggie Carlin and Patricia McDermott organized the second "Pleasant Dreams from Tunxis Community College" event to benefit ConKerr Cancer. Over 30 members of the Tunxis community donated their time, fabric and money. The result was 100 very colorful pillowcases to be sent to the non-profit ConKerr Cancer.
Thanks to all that helped this year!
