We are thrilled to announce that just three months after announcing our objective of building a Nursery School in Mtakuja, the project is now complete! The actual school was built in just three weeks time. How do we do it? Check out our video to find out!
The construction of a Nursery School in Mtakuja was a pilot project for what we hope will become an official Non-Profit Organization in the future. The aim of this Non-Profit Organization is to provide critical infrastructure to rural communities in the harsh Taveta region of Kenya. Critical infrastructure comprises schools, water access points, medical facilities and facilities to improve access to food. Research is currently being undertaken in the Taveta area to determine which facilities exist, in which community and what the priorities are for the communities in this region. This research will highlight those facilities required to improve access to basic human needs such as water, food, medical care and education. We will then endeavor to fulfill these community requirements through fundraising, field work and capacity building programs. “4frica” is a temporary name which we will operate under for the foreseeable future until an official name is set.
We guarantee that 100% of money donated to our organization goes directly to projects in the field. We do not take a percentage for administration fees or any other extraneous costs. Every cent from the $3500 we received in donations for our first project – Mtakuja Nursery School – went into the bricks and mortar of the Nursery School!
