Rev. Bob Shaw shares a message today about the power of Word, shared in today's worship in looking at the man possessed by a demon from Mark 1:21-28. The power of Word can be destructive or, as in Jesus' case, a timely and well-directed word can change another's life.
Worship today finds Rev. Blanche Edwards bringing our communion meditation, Rev. Deb Phelps the pastoral prayer, and Janet Spaulding and Susan McNeely reading the scriptures, adding Psalm 62: 5-12 in addition to Mark 1:21-28.
Our music today is a blend of old favorites and more contemporary works. We open with "Jesus, Messiah," then "This is the Air I Breathe," and then add "I Love to Tell the Story," and "In the Garden." In the background of our prayer and scripture are the gifts of Beverly Heid, playing "Thy Word, and He."
We hope that you will be able to join us for 30 minutes of worship here. Our prayer is that you will be blessed by being part of this worship, and prayer for our worship team as well as our other participants tuning in to the worship, perhaps from different times and places, but all still through the mystery of God's ways, all together in this one place.
