▲, pronounced Alt-30, is a work that challenges its players to find and test the thresholds of the piece, as well as their own. Through playfulness and curiosity it will invite you to stretch the limits you may find and learn what ‘threshold’ really means for you.
Studio L-F was approached by Born Digital to design an interactive installation for the FREEMOTE 11 Festival that would combine video projection, audio and game design. Born Digital found that urban screens, media facades and projections are mostly used in a passive, non-interactive way. Yet at the same time they believed that by introducing game design in the equation projection art can be made an active form of art. By making it an active form of art it can be used as an activator of playful behavior. It was up to Studio L-F to research these possibilities and combine video, audio and game design to design an installation that would entice and seduce an audience to participate in an interactive experience.
