Here we watch a melting process of 1.38 min of Saint George, I took this image by reproducing the exact relief of Saint George from the entrance of the Russian Orthodox church in Leipzig.
This church was built in 1913, the same year of the Völkerschlachtdenkmal, 20.000 Russians died during this battle.
The green colour in the ice is due to minerals that are part of Granite porphyr from Beucha, 15 km from Leipzig, the stone used for making the Völkerschlachtdenkmal.
I made this film during a residency in Künstlerresidenz Blumen, Leipzig in the frame of Palatti.
