"American Graffiti", a nostalgic look at life in small town U. S. A. circa 1962, was made in 1973 by a then-little-known film school grad named George Lucas. Many alumni of the movie went on to do very well in Hollywood -- Lucas basically defined modern sci-fi films with "Star Wars" movies, Ron Howard is now a successful director himself, and Harrison Ford a mega-star.
