When I first began experimenting with combining my art and poetry as short films as opposed to works on paper, I came across "Photoshow", a system mainly used for preserving photos of family memories. Odd that I want to tell stories with my paintings instead and combine them with poetry! At that point I hadn't even learned I could use a microphone so went with using captions. Eventually I collected all these shorts together for a piece called "Captioned Closeness" available for streaming via Indieflix, but since photoshow could not be converted to other downloadable formats for places like Vimeo I found a way to record the videos as "desktop activity" and then go in and edit, giving the movement of these films a sort of "blurring into each other" quality. I think of these as watercolor films.
