Second in the FISH BONES series of Saltwater Casting Tips, this short video discusses the advantages of starting and ending each cast with the rod tip in the water.
This is one of the most useful habits for flats fishing in salt water, whether wading or from skiff. Starting the cast with the fly rod in the water means more load in the rod and more power. Inspired by our love of teaching and the huge influx of first-time bonefishers we have as guests, we decided to put together a few simple tips to help improve your chances for success on the flats.
