This video demonstrates one of my university projects at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
In this project, students were given free reign to design and develop a portfolio piece of their choice.
My group chose to develop a flamethrower weapon for Unreal Tournament III. The weapon's secondary fire mode extinguishes the pilot light and shoots a trail of raw fuel that can be ignited later. Flammable objects and characters are also affected by the radiant heat emitted by the flames and will catch fire when they reach their ignition threshold.
I was responsible for creating the particle effects for the weapon as well as a portion of the UnrealScript code.
