The bridge tower swayed, or was that tripod moving?
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 2 years ago
Yes. Back then I didn't have a steady tripod as the one I own now, and there was a lot of wind anyway.

I like your comments at the DVInfo forum. You have an artistic eye towards video composition. I always make a stop at your postings.

WOW! It looks like a really big scale fog effect, don't usually see clouds sweep through architecture.

wow amazing, am i right or is the bridge moving and not the camera? Nice Time elapse.
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 2 years ago
The camera moves, it was windy.

Yeah saw at the second time, but if you just look at the bridge you think it moves :)

It's a suspension bridge so it's supposed to move. During the 50th anniversary, the bridge was closed so pedestrians can walk across it (I was one of them). Typically, the bridge's span is concave (like a hill), but that day, the span was completely flat.

Cool! I probably have driven this bridge a million times as a Bay Area native. As another member has said, it never gets old. The fog rolling into the bay is always impressive. The section of 101 after the bridge and before the Waldo tunnel also has impressive views of this. I wonder where one can setup to get that shot.
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 5 months ago
There's a vista point close to the bridge, that's where I setup my tripod. :)

You did the timelapse in post or in camera. If post, how is it so smooth?
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru plus 5 months ago
Hi Scott! It's in post, a simple fast-motion at 16x, with resample disabled. FCP can do 16x fast-motion too, but I am not sure if it has resampling control. I am using Sony Vegas on a PC.
