Shanghai MagLev High Speed Train
A short video taken from onboard the recently opened Shanghai MagLev Train that runs from Pudong International Airport into the city. I had arrived at the airport early and had some time to kill, so I did a round trip into the city and back again.
The train tops out at 431km/h, which is roughly 270mph. It suddenly stops accelerating at 431, so I think it's electronically limited and could probably go much faster.
A few notable moments in the video.... around 00:55 we come to the first corner, and of course the best way to go quickly around a corner is to bank the track, so thats what they did. There's a terrifying moment around 01:40, then towards the end you get to see the onboard speedo clocking a sustained 430~431km/h .
