Here's a trailer I developed for a show I was in. I translated the poster I made into video form.
It was a little bit of a task translating it from Photoshop to Premiere, but everything worked out perfectly. It's great that Adobe products are very well integrated. After some tweaking in Photoshop, I imported the PSD into Premiere and selected all the layers I needed onto the timeline and then worked from there.
The concept of the trailer is simple, the photographs start to appear to form the poster. I had the idea of the cast gradually speaking over each other, which pretty much sums up the nature of the play. I recorded the voices in three takes with my iPhone 4, and the result is actually surprising.
As for the music, I originally scoured Soundcloud for Bach - Cello Suite No 1. Prelude. While the track worked fine and I managed to get permission for it (through Creative Commons), I was advised against using the perhaps already overused song.
Instead, I worked with my girlfriend Sarah to create a simple tune with her violin, which works perfectly.
I used my iPhone 4 to record her violin sounds with the Griffin iTalk app. The app is really worthwhile.
