Quintissa Peake and her mother Rosa from Neon, Kentucky have become advocates for blood donation because they know firsthand the power of the gift of life.
Quintissa has sickle cell and is a passionate advocate for blood donations by African-Americans. She has become the Kentucky Blood Center's spokesperson for its Sickle Cell Sabbath program.
Rosa, despite her fear of needles, has become a regular blood donor because she has seen the pain her daughter suffers which can only be alleviated with blood donations.
