Gourmet magazine may have died in print, but it’s been reincarnated as an App. This spring, innovative publisher McSweeney’s launches its new cookbook imprint, and they’re doing it with an App (David Chang’s Lucky Peach, a quarterly journal and App.) Mario Batali’s got one, and Martha does too. Cookbook author Michael Ruhlman’s got two.
Is everything food going the way of the App? Julia Child’s TV Producer Geoffrey Drummond thinks so, and he’s part of a team that founded CulinApp, a new company that makes, you guessed it, culinary Apps. Drummond, cookbook author Dave Joachim, and Dorie Greenspan—who’s working with CulinApp on “Baking with Dorie”—spoke to us about the future of food and Apps.
