I finally got a chance to edit some material I shot with my new Canon 5d Mark II. Still trying to figure out the best work flow. I combined video and a few stills. Not sure why I get the stuttering in the transitions, especially with video. The stills seem to be smoother. Might have something to do with the conversion to pro res or frame rate. I guess it's back to the drawing board.
The other night we had thick freezing fog. The next morning I woke up to a surreal landscape of muted colors, and frost covering everything. Our cabin sits right on the bank of Rapid Creek in Hisega Canyon, located in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. I ventured out in the early morning light to take a few pictures and decided to try out the video feature on my new camera. The temperature was 18 degrees, and by the time I came back in my fingers were frozen. I charged my battery while I thawed out my hands, and when I went out to get a few more shots the frost had mostly melted.
After shooting with conventional video cameras for the last 25 years, this camera definitely takes some getting used to. I have a long way to go, I can see already.
