    Thanks, I just did this as sort of a test so I didn't explain much, but I'm working on creating more of them.

    Dude! Thanks a billion for that tutorial! I have been looking all over for a tutorial that is for XCode 3! All the tutorials and documentation I have found so far is for XCode 2.x which is no where near the same!

    I have really been wanting to get my feet wet with Mac Program in OS X, but haven't been able to find anything useful until now!

    Thanks again man!

    Without a doubt the best tutorial for getting started using 3.0! What would it take to persuade you to create a tutorial building a sample core data application? You really have a knack for clearly explaining things!

    how did you learn? and do you need a mac to be able to use this program?

    Very well done... clear and concise, showed me everything I was hoping to learn from the video without a bunch of fluff and distractions. Can't say that about very many videos out there. Thanks!

    It didn't work. The files that got written go like this:
    #import

    @interface NSButton : NSControl {

    }

    and that's it.

    @end

    my xcode 3 looks SO much different from yours.. hmm. one of the main/worst differences is that, after clicking on the Object and viewing its info in the Identity Inspector, i have neither Class Actions nor Class Outlets.
    merely User Defined Runtime Attributes, with the ability to add and subtract attributes, and set the KeyPath/Type/Value for each.
    also my default is MainMenu.XIB, instead of MainMenu.NIB, and in the window in Interface Builder titled MainMenu.xib (where the object is dragged, joining File's Owner, Application, etc) i also have Font Manager and an object with the name of my project, which identifies itself as an AppDelegate.

    based on those clues, could someone tell me the difference that i'm dealing with? and/or what steps to alter in order to do the project in this video.
    i haven't played with Xcode in over a year, and that was on 10.5.7. i succeeded in altering someone else's code to get software control of my logitech camera with UVC camera class..etc.
    but it's been a while, and i want to start at the beginning, and would like to replicate this simple project from the video.

    running: Xcode 3.2.6 64-bit on Snow Leopard 10.6.8
