This is a video I actually shot for a simple purpose - to get a grip on my Canon HV 20 in early summer. I took the camcorder to "Alter Nördlicher Friedhof" in Munich, a former cemetery, and played with the settings to become familiar with it. Even though it's only kind of test footage I like the tranquillity of the scene. (look for the little ant at around 3:50.. I love HD)

Very nice; I wish I had this in a digital picture frame in my apartment.

That is really nice! I like Jakob's idea about having that in a digtital picture frame. Is it posible to have a short digital movie in a frame like that? If so, Jakob has a great idea there. Thanks for sharing this with us!

I love the audio of the joggers

    all: thanks

chriskalani: the audio was recorded with binaural microphones. if you listen to it with headphones, the stereo effect should be even stronger, especially around 2:15 when the first jogger appears on the scene.

you might want to use your headphones playing the original mp4-file. the sound quality of the vimeo hd-version is a little scary...

Can you share which microphones you specifically used? Make and model and approximate cost? Thank you.

The microphone is a Soundman OKM 2 Pop:

Looks like they do not have a distribution partner in the US, but you will find alternatives and very good advice on this page:

    Great!
How does that mic work, do you put it in your own ears?
Better sound than the built-in mic and stereo. But I'm wondering about the high pitch noise, which appears to change volume with the clips.

yes, the microphones look like little headphones and you put them into your ears. by this you make sure they record from the same distance and angle as your ears would do while hearing sound. the result is a pretty natural stereo effect, especially when using headphones for listening. the high pitch noise you hear might be the wind that's on the recording, it was a very windy day. wind noise changes with clips due to different locations the video was recorded at the cemetery. plus... there are constant noise artefacts on the converted version, not on the mp4.

  • Great quality Vid on the HV20. sharpest, Ive seen yet!! What settings did you find worked best in that greenish scenic scenario? 24P, low shutter speed? enlighten me. Also did you end up doing post processing or was that raw footage? I think the section with the angel head was my favourite.
